4th of July Weekend :)

Celebrating 4th of July in a foreign country was a little strange but we made the most out of our weekend. We sure did miss all the parades, fireworks and family/friend time but we are thankful for all those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those that continue to serve our country for our freedom. Tanner's going to have a whole new world to experience when we move back to the states (we still have a while before that's going to happen though)!

Thursday we hung out around the house and BBQd. Tanner loves having daddy around the house for extra days during the week.
Tanner making his "cheese" face :)
Dan was going to play golf on Friday with some friends from work so he was attempting to hit the ball in the backyard...needless to say...he lacks all skills to play golf! Tanner really wanted to "help" him by picking up the tee and practice balls.
Since Dan was going to play golf on Friday, I decided to take Tanner to one of his favorite parks and have a little picnic. Here are some pictures from our morning.
Love driving around this country. It's so pretty this time of year.

We left a little bit after we had our picnic since he was starting to get tired. He fell asleep on the way home for about 15 minutes and he decided that was all the nap he needed for the day! So our afternoon was spent out back playing in the sprinkler and sand box.
He wasn't too sure about the sprinkler...
 Running from the sprinkler...
Deciding it was a LOT of fun...
But still didn't want to get in the cold water!

Saturday Dan had to go in to work for a few hours to get some studying done for SOS (Squadron Officer School) so Tanner and I decided to go on a walk - it was 64*, sunny and not a cloud in the sky! The area behind our house is farm land and Tanner loves watching the tractors. It was a perfect morning since they were harvesting carrots and he got to stop and watch for a little while. Of course he wanted to get on the tractor but one of the tractors was nice enough to stop in front of us on the road, honk the horn a few times and wave at Tanner. Then he wanted to follow to the tractor through town. :)
Crews working in the field. I had no idea they harvested carrots by hand.
That afternoon we decided to fill one of our baby pools up with water for Tanner to play in and we all spent the afternoon outside. Dan smoked a turkey breast on the grill and we enjoyed our family time!

Today (Sunday) was another beautiful day so we went for a family walk this morning, stopped by the animal park so Tanner could feed the ducks, rabbits, goats etc and then we smoked a brisket! The afternoon was spent outside as well since the weather was AMAZING!!!

WE are so thankful for the days we get to spend as a family. Just a little less than 5 weeks and our little boy, Hayden, will be here! I finally started going through some of Tanner's old clothes this weekend and I got everything washed for newborn-9 months. It's crazy how much stuff I kept but I sure am happy now! I think Hayden will have plenty of clothes to last him until he's 2!

We hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July! God bless you all!
