He turned 17 months on 14 February and my goodness he's changing so much. He's 31" tall and weighs 28 pounds. He's also "talking" all the time and he's trying to say sentences even though we have no idea what he's saying. But some of his words/phrases are milk, "I stuck" (really everything is stuck ALL the time!), thirsty, wawa (water), dog, duck, moose, spoon, bowl, book, apple, nanana (banana), bird, penguin (doesn't sound exactly like it should but he's close), ball, bat, hammer, ipad, phone, Nana, gampa (grandpa in his language), gammy (grammy), gampy (grampy) and there are many many more. He's a sponge these days and loves to "see" what we're doing when we are cooking, likes to try to help with the dishes, he's started eating at the table with his own plate instead of on his booster chair tray, copies you when you cross your arms or any sort of arm/hand movements you make and oh my goodness does he love music and dancing. He's really into Barney right now and also loves playing with all his cars and truck. He makes the cutest noises when he's driving them along the window ledges and the floor. He learning to somewhat entertain himself and he's starting to pick up his books and look at the pictures more. He still doesn't like to sit still long enough to read a whole book but we are making progress. He can also pick out some of the pictures on his flashcards when we are reviewing them. It's amazing to see him learn and grow every day. It's such a joy and a blessing to be able to stay home with him. I never thought I would be very good at being a stay at home mom but it's starting to get easier and we are finally getting into a routine.
Some of his favorite foods are kiwi, bananas, purple grapes, cantaloupe apples, cheese, milk, macaroni and cheese, fish sticks, spaghetti, shrimp fried rice, turkey, ham, broccoli carrots, mashed potatoes and he'll even eat some raw cauliflower every now and then. I try to introduce him to a variety of foods so he can decide if he does or doesn't like it. Of course he loves his fruit pouches, nilla wafers, gold fish, chex mix and many other types of snack foods.
Here are a few pictures from the last couple weeks.
He cracks me up...
Feeding the animals with Daddy...he loves going to see all the animals by our house.
Love him!
He wanted to feed the deer himself :)
This is before church today. He's started to stand still and pose for pictures...
This is his excitement after he "did a good job" posing and he wants to look at the picture on the camera screen.
Tanner brings so much joy and love to our lives! It's hard to believe we will have another baby joining our family in 23 weeks. Below are our announcement pictures. He loves his big brother shirt he got in the mail from uncle Ted, aunt Allison and the girls!
It took us a long time before we got to tell our family that we were expecting another baby since I didn't see a doctor until I was 9 weeks along, then we didn't have internet until the end of January so we couldn't facetime with everyone to tell them and I didn't want to tell our family in an email. So really I was already 15 weeks along by the time we told everyone or when I posted his picture on facebook (thank goodness for technology). I am now 17 weeks pregnant (as of 22 February) and I'm starting to feel human again. The first trimester this time around was a lot harder than when I was pregnant with Tanner. Here is a picture of me...not the best but oh well...I now have a baby bump and don't just look like I'm getting "fat".
