Moving to the Netherlands!

Moving to the Netherlands has been quite the adventure! There's nothing like having a 13 month old on a plane for 9 hours and the whole gamut of fun you have trying to entertain him and get him to sleep. Tanner did exceptionally well considering he only had a 30 minute nap all day, was over-tired and was trying to sleep on me. I'm happy the flight's over, we made it here and we have a house to stay in (rather than a normal hotel). Dan's sponsor, Nick, picked us up at the airport Saturday morning (we flew out of Houston Friday afternoon and there's a 7 hour time difference). Tanner ended up getting pink eye the day we left Houston so we got to visit a Dutch hospital the day we got to the Netherlands. Thank goodness Nick knew what to do and where to take us. I was lost trying to pay in a new currency and get prescriptions filled!

The area we are living in is beautiful. It's all a farming community and there are animals and farm land everywhere. It doesn't always smell the best but I'm sure we'll get used to that. Since we don't have a car right now, ours is still in transit, Tanner and I walk to the local grocery store several times a week and we've taken the bus to the town of Uden a couple times. It's great to see everyone riding their bikes all the time too. It doesn't matter if it's raining or sunny...they are still on the go! Grocery shopping here is a lot of fun since I don't know what anything is and we have to try to figure it out based on pictures! We've tried some really yummy items and other things we've spit out and thrown away!! :)  Here are a couple of pictures from the first week we were here.

He cracks me up! Love him to pieces! He's 14 1/2 months old in this picture

We can't wait to see what all this adventure has in store for us! We still don't have a house and hopefully we'll find one soon so we can get back to normal. I'm ready to stop living out of a suitcase!
