Tanner's Finally Here!!!

After 41 1/2 weeks Tanner decided to finally join us!  I was scheduled to be induced on 14 Sept and we had to be at the hospital by 0500 to get checked in and start the pitocin. By 1400 I was at 7cm and they had broke my water but Tanner's decent wasn't progressing.  His heart rate started to drop below a comfortable level for the doctor and he wasn't reacting positively to the contractions or the pitocin.  The nurse and doctor had me changing positions over and over trying to get Tanner to react and at the time I had no idea what was really going on. It was a bit overwhelming when the doctor, nurse and Dan are all staring at the monitors and the anesthesiologists, his shadow, and 4 additional nurses rush into the room.  After a few minutes of everyone monitoring my progress, the doctor decided to turn off the pitocin to see if Tanner's heart rate would go back up. The doctor was not comfortable turning the pitocin back on and she didn't think Tanner would descend so a c-section was our safest option. Dan was able to get changed and was in the operating room with me the whole time! Tanner was born at 1510 weighing 7 lbs 7 oz and 20 ¼” long! He’s a beautiful healthy baby boy and Dan and I are so blessed!

Leaving as a family of 3!
Tanner arrived at home
About 3 weeks before Tanner was born we ended up taking Dan to the ER due to a kidney stone that popped up.  The doctors kept thinking the stone would pass on it's own and it never did.  So I was released from the hospital on Saturday and Dan ended up having his kidney stone removed the following Monday (19 Sept).  Needless to say, Dan and I were both in a lot of pain and a bit out of it.  Thank goodness both sets of grandparents were able to come to Montana!  Gpa & Gma Foster were taking Dan to the hospital and all his appointments while Gpa & Nana Smith were taking Tanner and I around town to our appointments. We are so grateful for all their help and we can't thank them enough!
